Topic 1: Cranial Microsurgery

 

Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:

 

1A: Integrate current and recent clinical studies with microsurgical anatomy to optimize the treatment of cerebrovascular pathology.

 

1B: Describe the importance of white matter tracts as they relate to surgical anatomical approaches for the treatment of cranial pathology.

 

Topic 2: Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

 

Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:

 

2A: Understand the historical evolution and advancement of minimally invasive surgery as applied to the spine.

 

2B: Identify the clinical and anatomical features that allow optimization of patient selection, treatment and outcome using minimally invasive approaches to spine surgery.

 

Topic 3: History of Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery

 

3A: Develop an appreciation for the historical framework that allowed advanced microsurgical and endovascular of cerebrovascular disease.

 

3B: Incorporate ongoing advancements into the clinical practice of cerebrovascular surgery.

 

Topic 4: Artifical Lumbar Discs

 

4A: Gain a better understanding of the process surrounding the introduction and advancement of new technology into

neurosurgical practice.

 

4B: Identify the clinical and radiographic features where the use of artificial lumbar discs may replace arthrodesis.

Following the Scientific Sessions, the participants should be able to: Interpret outcomes of the investigations and treatments reported, relate and integrate the information presented from those interventions into their own practice.

We have arranged for sessions every morning where difficult and interesting cases will be presented. If you have a case you would like to present, please contact the session's moderator in advance during the meeting to arrange for film or digital projection.
