Topic 1, Dr. Day: Unruptured Aneurysms

 

Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:

 

1A: Identify appropriate treatment options available for the treatment of unruptured aneurysms based on location, size and shape.

 

1B: Understand the rationale for current management options available for patients with unruptured aneurysms.

 

1C: Present a treatment algorithm to clarify the optimal treatment of unruptured aneurysms

 

Topic 2, Dr. Foley: Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery

 

Upon completion of this session, participants should be able to:

 

2A: Understand the historical evolution and advancement of minimally invasive surgery as applied to the spine.

 

2B: Identify the clinical and anatomical features that allow optimization of patient selection, treatment and outcome using minimally invasive approaches to spine surgery.

 

Topic 3, Dr. Day: Maintenance of Certification

 

3A: Develop an appreciation for the historical framework that has led to the incorporation of new ABNS rules regarding the maintenance of certification.

 

3B: Understand the educational and recertification paradigms that will be required to maintain ABNS certification in the future.

 

Topic 4, Dr. Foley: Artifical Lumbar Discs

 

4A: Gain a better understanding of the process surrounding the introduction and advancement of new technology into neurosurgical practice.

 

4B: Identify the clinical and radiographic features where the use of artificial lumbar discs may replace arthrodesis.

 

By popular demand of the membership, we will once again include a "firing line" format at our 2003 meeting. We have arranged for sessions every morning where difficult and interesting cases will be presented. If you have a case you would like to present, please contact the session's moderator in advance during the meeting to arrange for film or digital projection.
